Today is Monday 2nd November and from Thursday 5th November, it looks likely England will enter Lockdown 2, I’m not publishing this blog on the day I write it as I want this to about how I feel before it kicks in.
First of all I was like for fuck sake, I don’t want to go through this again and that’s still the case but then I thought about it and realised for me personally not much changes. I can’t go to the gym or train people there, that’s an obvious one but as I have said before I don’t need a gym to exercise, I like to have one don’t get me wrong but I’m happy training at home and outside and yes of course the weather is going to be worse this time of year but I always think if you are going to do events outdoors you need to be able to train in all weather conditions anyway. Exercise is exercise at the end of the day, sure options are more limited but it’s time to adapt and learn some new moves.
If you think it’s just Burpess, Press Ups, Squats etc. think again try new moves Frog Squats, Spiderman Lunges, Spiderman Press Ups, Frog Pumps, Butterfly Sit Ups, Kickthroughs, etc. and they are just bodyweight moves, you have a set of Dumbbells, a Kettlebell etc. then there are plenty more options available for them as well
So what else has changed for me and what would really affect me, the limitations on seeing a set amount of people sucks but while not as good as in person again its not like you can’t connect with people, I know doing it via skype isn’t the same as in person but it’s still an option
Friday is my birthday so it would have been nice to go for a meal but that won’t happen, so a take away it will be, again not the same but I’m still eating the same quality food.
Other than that for me personally, none of the changes affect me. The point I’m trying to make everything that is affecting you can probably be adapted somehow, it may not be as good but it may take you by surprise, no one really likes change but life as we know it has changed this year and it’s better to adapt rather than wait for a return to normal life as we know it.
I fully expect us in Essex to be out of a national Lockdown by the 2nd December and that end date for me and knowing what to expect does help a lot.
I worry about people’s mental health during this whole period of time. But as much as people may think the whole world has changed, try and adapt and life is so much better if you can adapt and overcome.
