Why I decided to do some dancing

At a time when our options to do anything are limited I thought why not try something different, if ever there is a time to try and do something different then that time is now. I am going to try and few other dance styles over the week but it won’t be a regular thing by any stretch of the imagination but I thought I would give it a go and see how it was.
I enjoyed it, I have always loved hip hop music and the culture itself always fascinated me. Watching break dancing was always something I thought was quite cool so why not give it a go I thought. We can’t really be called hybrid one fitness if we ourselves are not prepared to truly embody what the definition of the word hybrid means so I decided to try and do something I have not done in a long time. Yes I have done dancing before when I was younger in clubs etc., way before most people reading this would have known me. I was as bad then as I am now but I still enjoyed it as much then as I did the other day.
More than that the last few years I have done different things every year wherever it be Rough Runner (OCR), Vertical Rush (Tower Run), Truck Pulls (Strongman), Marathons etc. I have always had a new goal, this year was no different, next Saturday on the 9th I was supposed to run my 1st ever Ultra Marathon, not long after that was Red Bull Quicksand (a beach running knockout competition), later this year my 1st ever Vertical Mile Stair run, because of Co-Vid 19 these have either been postponed until later this year or cancelled all together,
So with all new things being cancelled I thought why not try and do something I have not done in ages and decided to do some Dance classes. I enjoyed them and will do more but it won’t be a regular part of my training
Needless to say not having the options to do many things at the moment has made me want to them more. When everything starts to get back to normal there are many things which I have always thought would be fun to do, places which would be good to visit etc. which for whatever reason I have never done, it’s the classic one day I will do it, assuming that the option would always be there.
Well I did some dance classes to do something different and had a little fun. Lockdown will end and we will get back to normal gradually and when we do please don’t go back to the normal old routine, embrace new challenges and never assume that you will always have the options to do something, no more one day I will start.
